looking at the fish, finding Nemo!

So most of you know that Chad has been in Houston remodeling a Chick-fil-A and the kids and I decided to spend a week with him and make a mini vacation out of it. We meant to head out on Monday but Jax Man got sick and so we headed out Tuesday Morning and after taking Gracie to the vet, car wash and getting Chads tags for his truck we were on our way about 2 hours late but on our way. We only stopped once for lunch and potty which I was impressed with but by the time we made it I thought I was going to go NUTS! They did great for a 2 and 5 year old but even Chad said that night that they were CRAZY! Whew, I was so glad to be there and have some help. Daddy was saying in a really cool hotel that was in an outdoor mall (my total dream) so we walked to dinner ate at Red Robin and had by the time we got there we had one spanking and a one time out just on the walk over to the restaurant. WOW what a day, I was so happy to get some help from daddy. We just happened to hit Chad's job on a slow week (if there is such a thing). He meet us for lunch, we went to the Aquarium, to the beach, Mr. Gatti's Pizza (or it was supposed to be) and even to Sesame Live gearing up for our trip to Sesame Street in PA this summer (more pics to come all the other places we went).

The kids had a blast at the Aquarium, Em and Jax have been before but Jax did not remember it! They LOVED the fish, frogs and all sea life but I think their fav was the white tiger. We got to see them feed him and watch him play and both kids had questions and loved seeing it.

We also took the kids to eat at Landry's the restaurant up stairs from the Aquarium. Em remembers it and still talks about the dessert that she had there so what a fun memory to revisit. We ate by the tall glass aquarium and then had build your own sundaes. Em LOVED it just like she remembered and Jax man didn't eat two bites but had a blast running to the car in the rain. We had fun, we got wet, we had a great family night!

We had a blast, I think it was so good for the kids to spend the week with Chad, however I do think for some reason this time has been harder on them and him. Jax thinks that Daddy lives in a Hotel and when Chad is around he follows him like a puppy and Em has done some off the wall things and when I ask her why all she can say is she misses Daddy. We sure do miss him, but are on the down hill slide.
