Ok, so when your five you don't really know what time the new year rings in and this year Emmie was all about staying up and ringing it in. So after pizza with Gammy and Papa for Papa's Birthday we gave the kids the bath and headed out side to do the sparklers that Daddy brought home. The kids love them, they had so much fun even though it was like 10 degrees and they were in there jammies and house shoes (coats of course). Then we came in and at 8:45 we counted down to the New Year (she is only 5, she doesn't know what time it was) with a toast of apple juice. The kids thought that was cool to get to use mommy's wine glasses.

Chad also brought home a bottle of Champagne to celebrate the New Year and the night we met. Yes 7 years ago we met on New Years Eve. I went with a friend of ours to Chad's house for a little get together. The mutual friend TOTALLY did not think we would hit it off (we both like to talk to much) but we sure did. I would say we hit it off pretty well, 4 months later we were married in Mexico. My mom told us that marriage was like a crap shoot and that if it felt right that we had to go with that feeling. It felt pretty right, we have been going strong 7 years now. Who would have ever thought. God has a plan and we are not the driver, we are the passenger so sit back and enjoy the ride. I truly couldn't have asked for a better husband and father. He always puts our family first. So for a long story short there is double meaning for New Years Eve. To wrap of the night Chad and I watched TV and barley made it to New Year. We were so tired from the night before that we didn't even open the bottle of champagne.
Here are some pictures of right before we put the kids to bed. They were being super hero's and doing anything funny to keep from going to bed. We knew it was over when Jax decided to start climbing up his bunk beds like spider man. We told him to stick to Buzz Lightyear!

My hubby and I met 7 years ago on New Year's Eve...how funny! What a great night :)
